For Texas - With Love
For Texas, With Love
I can’t even begin to imagine the sorrow you’re feeling-
The heartbreak that cuts deep, the wounds still reeling.
The aftermath sits heavy, the chaos still near,
A silence so loud, thick with worry and fear.
In a world already worn from the weight it must bear,
More tears fall from the rough skies and air.
Where storms don’t just rage, but tear through the seam
Of homes and of hearts, of lives and of dreams.
A place so well loved, a land full of grace,
Now sits in the wake of a storm’s cruel embrace.
Where Mother Nature and mother both shed their tears,
And families hold breath, bracing for what appears.
Praying not to confirm what they dread to be true—
Clinging to hope like the sky clings to blue.
These storms are getting worse than we ever once knew,
And rain, once a gift, now drowns out dreams too.
It was meant to bring blossoms, to soften the ground—
Not to sweep life away or tear it all down.
From miles away, a mother stands still,
Yet inside, she’s breaking—quiet but real.
She sees the headlines and photos that shouldn’t exist,
Tragedies that ache in the heart as she clenches her fists.
The helplessness cuts, the prayers come in waves—
For the mamas now facing what no one could brave.
She gathers her children, holds them close and tight,
Suddenly grateful for tantrums and laundry and night.
The dirty floors, the endless mess—
Now feel like blessings more, not less.
A holy reminder not to look past
What may one day become the last.
We were never meant to carry such sadness alone—
But we rise, hand in hand, to be shelter, to be home.
To bring peace, and hope, and love where we can,
To tend to the hurting, to steady what stands.
Oh God, bring comfort. Draw mercy near.
Let the soil soak up more than just fear.
Let wildflowers bloom where the water once stayed—
Let love rise up from the wreckage and shade.
And plant, if You will, God, small seeds of peace—
So healing may come, and heartbreak may cease.
May love grow stronger in a time so trying,
And may families and the earth find light amid crying.
I pray hope and healing were not lost in the water.
I pray for each creature, mother, father, son, and daughter.
Amen.
